POSITION DESCRIPTION

Summit Tools is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Tools Service Technician - Apprentice Millwright based in our Burnaby location. To ensure success in this position, the incumbent will need to have working knowledge of computers and use of repair equipment. In addition to these qualities, we require the following skills:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair power tools
  • Attend client service calls
  • Deliver excellent repair service to our customers
  • Knowledge and understanding of all parts
  • Accept on-call responsibilities and be in rotation
  • Minimize rework and repeat service related issues
  • Maintain a high level of workmanship, ensuring the quality of installation or repair exceeds customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of warranty policies
  • Coordinate and follow up with customer parts and tool orders

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a service environment a must, preferably with power tool repair experience
  • Previous experience in maintaining and repairing electric tools
  • Experience of welding would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and think logically
  • Able to use MS Office products at an intermediate level (i.e. Outlook and Word)
  • Highly proficient using hand and power tools
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to complete tasks in tight time frames
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible

EDUCATION

  • Must have completed Grade 12
  • Must have post-secondary education directly related to Tool Service Technician
