Compensation:  $14 – 15/HOUR (Commensurate with experience)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver is critical to the success of Summit Tools. The successful candidate will be motivated, reliable, detail-oriented and committed to working hard in a safe environment. This position offers full time, 40-hour weeks composed of day shifts with benefits after six months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loading and unloading trucks, order picking, wrapping products, packing, labeling shipping and receiving
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Requirements
  • Operate a Forklift and Order Picker
  • Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out and incoming damaged product is reported
  • Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Stage finished product for loading
  • Load products onto trucks
  • Follow warehouse health and safety guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of directly related warehouse experience
  • Must have a valid BC driver’s license
  • Class 1, 4 & 5 Forklift Operating Certification and Class 2 Order Picker Certification preferred
  • Previous Warehouse experience in shipping/receiving is an asset
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push up to and including 50 pounds.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Minimum High School Education
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
  • High level of work commitment, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and follow procedures
  • Completion of a criminal record check
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and must be able to work Saturdays

SKILLS

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of spreadsheets and experience with Excel
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate
  • Team player
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible
