Position Title: HR/PAYROLL ASSISTANT Requisition No:  ST-040

Job Type: FULL TIME PERMANENT

Location: BURNABY

Compensation: $15 - $17/HR (Commensurate with experience)

Positioned for growth, we now have a total of 4 stores. In addition to our flagship store in Burnaby, you will see Summit Tools in Port Coquitlam, Kelowna and St. Jerome, Quebec. All our stores have a wide selection of brands with the latest products in the market including a large selection of power tools, accessories and hardware at competitive prices. We proudly serve a broad spectrum of clients from the homeowner or contractor to the industrial user, and we take pride in serving their needs.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing New Hire documents
  • Tracking and monitoring Performance Management initiatives
  • Basic recruitment initiatives
  • Timesheet calculations
  • Employee forms and files updates
  • Benefits reconciliation
  • Record accruals
  • Creating and extracting various HR and Payroll reports
  • Other duties as assigned by reporting manager

What skills do we want you to have?

  • Working towards or recently graduated with an HR / Payroll degree or designation
  • Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills (typing speed of 50 wpm)
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, think logically, and apply critical thinking skills
  • Must be self motivated and have a “go-getter’ attitude
