Position Title: IT SUPPORT Requisition No:  18-07



Location: BURNABY

Compensation: $16 - 18/HR

Positioned for growth, we now have a total of 4 stores. In addition to our flagship store in Burnaby, you will see Summit Tools in Port Coquitlam, Kelowna and St. Jerome, Quebec. All our stores have a wide selection of brands with the latest products in the market including a large selection of power tools, accessories and hardware at competitive prices. We proudly serve a broad spectrum of clients from the homeowner or contractor to the industrial user, and we take pride in serving their needs.

  • Provide general IT support to staff
  • Conduct regular maintenance and security on PCs and laptops (remotely and in person)
  • Ensure all IT related equipment is functioning and maintained adequately for daily use
  • Receive and handle calls and emails which require general IT support in a timely manner
  • Order and maintain a supply of IT related office supplies and equipment
  • Work towards organizational goals and projects in accordance with company policy and IT legislation
  • Ensure security systems are maintained and fully functional at all times
  • Efficiently communicate any issues to management
  • Prepare evaluations of software
  • Ensure all servers are running smoothly, including conducting regular backups, maintenance and updates on 30-40 various servers (Antivirus, Hyper V, Cisco, etc.)


  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of general IT support experience
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of MS Office Suite applications
  • Must have strong SQL administrative skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of VM Ware and SQL-based servers


  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be quick to adapt in various work environments
  • Must be a self-starter with a sense of ownership and accountability for departmental objectives
  • Must have strong communication abilities in verbal, written, and presentation settings
  • Must have proven organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on timelines and importance
  • Must be able to handle highly classified and confidential material
  • Must be able to adhere to and follow applicable company policies and procedures as well as IT legislation


  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Systems, or Computer Engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience
